For those of you not old enough to remember, former running back, accused murderer and convicted felon OJ
Simpson used to be Hertz's spokesman back in the day. He appeared in both print and TV ads such as
this one, usually running
through an airport terminal to his Hertz rental car.
Hertz probably wishes everyone would forget about the fact that OJ was ever associated with the company--likewise the
reference in this ad to making a fast getaway. Then again, someone once said that there is no such thing as bad publicity.
Given that Hertz is the largest car rental brand in the world with 3,500 locations in the U.S. and 7,500 worldwide,
this little misstep didn't seem to hurt them too badly.
Things for The Juice are not going as well. He's currently taking care of business in Nevada's Lovelock Correctional
Facility. He's swapped the 3-piece business suit for something more utilitarian, but we hear that he's still pretty
quick on his feet.
