Airport Car Rental Guides

When is a Deal Not a Deal?

Deal or No Deal

Hertz was the only company this year to offer any car rental deals for Cyber Monday. They offered up to 40% off of prepaid rentals through the Hertz brand, and a 25% discount on the Dollar and Thrifty brands which they also own. While up to 40% off sounds like an awesome deal, up to is the operative term hereā€”the actual prices were nothing to write home about.

On the other hand, the 25% off that Dollar and Thrifty offered up was the real deal. As discount brands, Dollar/Thrifty tend to be priced very aggressively to start with. While they do offer coupons that can net you 10-15% off on a regular basis, it is truly rare to find a 25% discount code, so those who got in on the this got quite a good deal.

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) Car Rental Guide

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL)

Flying to Fort Lauderdale? South Florida is a great place to rent a convertible or a car that might not be available in much of the United States year round. Before we talk about rental cars, there’s one question I receive about Nashville International Airport quite frequently – “why is Nashville International Airport’s IATA code BNA?” The airfield was named after Col. Harry S. Berry and BNA is a designation for “Berry Field Nashville”.

Portland International Airport (PDX) Airport Car Rental Guide

PDX Airport Image

Anyone who's traveled through the Portland (Oregon) International Airport (PDX) recently has likely heard the announcements and seen the signage that reminds the visitor that the airport has won Travel + Leisure Magazine's award for best domestic airport four consecutive years (2013-2016). For that reason alone, PDX is a great candidate for our first article in a new series of airport rental car guides!

While the PDX airport is easy to navigate, open, and has a substantial number of user facilities both airside and before security, we know the AutoSlash reader really wants to know all about rental cars and how to use them!
