January of each year sees Las Vegas host the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), a very profitable event for the city where all travel resources -- airfare, hotels, and (sadly) rental cars -- are priced at exceptional premiums! And this year, National Car Rental is attempting to take the mantle of "most tech-oriented rental car company" away from Avis, using live web broadcasts on Twitter with host Andru Edwards.
Who is Andru Edwards? He's the CEO of Gear Live and a popular YouTube and Twitter personality -- it's a nice gig if you can get it! He'll be hosting live sessions at noon Pacific time from CES on National's Twitter feed, @NationalPro. Ideally, he will show us what's new and exciting for adaptation for rental cars but ignore potential disasters such as AT&T's CruiseCast Satellite television system for rental cars, a previous finalist for the "Best of CES" award in 2009 that was overpriced (hardware), overpriced (service cost), geeky looking (just look at the photos), and failed spectacularly within months! The next big thing can sometimes be a big failure! Curious as to what a tech geek thinks about innovations displayed at CES before those innovations are available to the public? Tune in on January 9, 10, and 11, 2018 to see if there's a new "must have" product or service available!
